Posting Guidelines

All creators who want their works included in the AO3 collection must upload them themselves. If you do not have an AO3 account and would like to have your work included, please reach out to a mod and we will be able to send you an invitation code.
All works must be properly rated and tagged to include all appropriate content warnings. The mods reserve the right to ask creators to adjust their tags as necessary for their work to remain in the collection.
Works do not need to be added to the collection in order to be featured on the journal. Creators can also post their creations to this journal according to the posting guidelines in the FAQs, (or on Tumblr, tag our blog in their own post or use the submission feature on our blog).
This fest promotes all types of fanworks including (but not limited to): fics, drabbles, art work of any medium, podfics, RPs, songs, fan mixes, fan videos, moodboards, poetry, crafts, etc.

HP Femslash Minifest will be collecting open-use scenarios that are related to the mod prompts. We want to give a bit more clarity and context to this before our new prompting post goes live.

Theses scenarios are meant to be starting off points for creators who are looking for a little inspiration. They should be general scenes, quotes, situations, or ideas that creators can use to jump start their work. They are NOT meant to be overly long or detailed and should not be tied to any specific character/pairing/gen.

Scenarios can be submitted for OTPs, OT3s, BroTPs or single characters.
They should be written without names (use Character A, Character B instead).
Scenarios can give general details about a character if they are relevant to the rest of the prompt (eg. Character A, a soft butch, is cutting her hair short for the first time, Character B, the hair stylist, is very attracted to this new client.)
Indicating that a prompt is cross-gen is acceptable as long as the scenario does not dictate which gens of characters should be written about (eg. Character A, an older woman, hires Character B, her child’s classmate, to do XYZ. What happens when Character B starts coming on to her employer?)
Scenarios should not include squicks or maximum ratings as it is the content consumer’s job to read tags and cultivate their own experiences with this fest. We are not in the business of restricting creators. If you have questions please visit our Rules & FAQs.
Scenarios need to be relevant to the mod-issued prompts for the current cycle and can include 1, a combination of 2, or all 3 of the mod prompts.
All scenario prompts will be submitted via an Airtable Form linked in that cycle’s prompting post.
All scenario prompts will be available for viewing immediately via an Airtable Gallery linked in that cycle’s prompting post.
Prompting for a specific cycle will close on the 15th of the second month (eg. Prompting for June/July 2019 will close on July 15)
The prompting form and gallery will be available for the entirety of the cycle so check back often!
Since these scenarios are open-use there will be no claiming process. We do ask that if a creator chooses to use one of these scenarios that they mention it when they publish.
Submitting a scenario does not guarantee that a creator will make something for it.
Any scenarios submitted that do not adhere to these guidelines will be deleted by the mods.

What ships are allowed?
Any, as long as the main relationship is WLW. We love all generations (marauders, lightning, next gen, cross-gen, etc.), main and minor characters, and polyships are all welcome! We are also happy to host fics with trans characters/non-binary characters as long as the ship is sapphic. OTPs, BroTPs, and OT3s are all welcome here!

How is the fest run?
Three prompts will be given by the mods on a bi-monthly basis. One prompt will be a common fanfic trope, one prompt will be reflective of the season/events happening in that time frame, and one prompt will be a wildcard selected by the mods. Participants can write about any/all of the prompts given. The mods will also maintain a list of scenarios anonymously submitted by our followers for open use by creators who are looking for inspiration.

What types of work are accepted?
All kinds! Fics, drabbles, art, podfics, songs, fanmixes, edits & mood boards, crafts, RPs, etc. Any fan works you can think of we will be happy to accept. If you are unsure please drop an ask in our box and we will be happy to make a determination for you.

Do you have a preferred platform for hosting my work?
This fest will be run on Tumblr, AO3, LJ and DW. All work is self-posted. Works posted on Tumblr are reblogged through our Tumblr, and LJ and DW works are self-promoted by creators to the LJ/DW communities. Unfortunately, currently we are not planning to promote individual works posted to LJ and DW on Tumblr and vice versa, but all works will be included in the bimonthly roundup post.

How do I link to my work on livejournal/dreamwidth?
On LJ and DW, please use the following format for the title of your post: TYPE: Title (Pairing)

Examples:
DRABBLE: Hermione's Secret (Hermione/Ginny)
MOODBOARD: Summer Love (Fleur/Tonks)

Use the header below, and either include the work behind an lj-cut or a link. For now, tag your work with the tag 'requires tagging' and the mods will add appropriate tags.

What happens if I can’t get my piece done on time?
This is an open fest and as such there are no real deadlines. We will happily accept any submissions at any time. Once the two-month window for the mod prompts has ended, the fest will be happy to promote your work however it will not appear in the bi-monthly roundup.

Do I have to participate every month?
No but we’ll love you if you do! Feel free to jump in and out whenever inspiration strikes! Also, feel free to go back and revisit our past prompts and write about those at any time.

How should I tag my work (Tumblr)?
We will be tracking the tag “HP Femslash MiniFest” on Tumblr and reblogging all works that appear there. You should also add

hpfemslash_minifest to your tumblr post to make sure we see it!
